Showcase

Showcase is a modern, responsive image and video gallery for SharePoint. It offers seven layouts, an accessible lightbox with inline video, and two content sources - manual items or a document library - as a polished replacement for the native gallery and ShortPoint sliders.

Permissions

Showcase runs client-side as the signed-in user. The gallery and the document-library read need no Microsoft Graph permissions. Only optional audience targeting uses a single read-only scope, GroupMember.Read.All, which an admin approves once; if it is not granted, targeting fails open and everything shows.

Set up

Install the package (see the Install guide). No Graph scopes are required to start.
Edit a page → add the Glow Cloud Showcase web part. It drops in with a good-looking default grid.
In the property pane, choose a source, add or bind your items, then pick a layout.

Sources

Manual - add items in the collection panel with image, caption, alt text, link and audience. Upload images to Site Assets or paste a URL.
Document library - pick a site, library and folder, with a file-type filter, order-by, top N and a caption column. Read as the signed-in user.

Per-item links from a library

Library-bound galleries can carry their own links, the same as manual items. Name a link column in the property pane and each tile clicks through to its own destination instead of opening the lightbox.

Hyperlink column - used as-is.
Single line of text - also accepted, and an address typed without https:// (for example glowcloudkit.com) is treated as an external site rather than a page inside your own.

Items with no value in that column keep the gallery's normal behaviour.

Each layout has its own responsive column counts for desktop, tablet and mobile.

Title banner

The banner behind the gallery title has its own styling settings in the property pane, in the Header group, under the title and heading level. Only the controls that do something for the style you choose are shown. Galleries already on a page are unchanged: the default is the theme-coloured banner they have always had, and nothing moves until an author picks a style.

Underline	No fill, with a short coloured rule under the title
Accent bar	A light bar with a thick coloured edge down the left
Overline label	A small label in your own wording above the title

Banner shape - rounded or square, offered on the styles that draw a filled banner.
Banner colour - a colour of your own; Use the site theme colour puts it back.
Second colour - only on Two colours. Left empty, a darker shade of the banner colour is used.
Banner background image - only on Background image. Pick or paste an image; the readability overlay keeps the title legible over it.
Overline text - only on Overline label. The small label above the title, for example the campaign or event the gallery covers.
Title text colour - automatic by default. The title contrast is computed against the real banner colour using WCAG ratios, so a banner in a brand colour stays legible; set light or dark to override it.

Above a large gallery, a quieter banner - an underline, an accent bar or an overline label - often reads better than a full-width block of colour, which competes with the images below it.

Lightbox and video

Lightbox - previous and next, arrow keys, Escape, touch swipe, caption and counter, focus trap and a labelled dialog; click the backdrop to close.
Video - mp4, SharePoint Stream, YouTube and Vimeo tiles get a play overlay and play inline in the lightbox.
Item links - optionally make a tile navigate to its link instead of opening the lightbox.

Audience targeting

Target a single item or the whole gallery to Microsoft 365 or security groups. Targeting uses the read-only GroupMember.Read.All scope and fails open, so if membership cannot be read, everything shows.

Tiles lazy-load their image only when scrolled into view, so a large gallery stays fast.
