Licensing & activation

Glow Cloud Kit is sold as a per-tenant subscription. There are no keys to install - each web part validates your subscription automatically when it loads.

Activating your tenant

Activation is a one-time sign-in that links your Microsoft 365 tenant to your subscription:

Complete checkout from the pricing page.
You're taken to the portal's welcome page - click Sign in to activate.
Sign in with the same Microsoft work account (and email) you purchased with. This binds your tenant to the subscription.

Use the same email for both the purchase and the sign-in. The activation matches your billing email to your tenant - if they differ, activation can't complete.

How validation works

When an app loads, it checks your tenant's subscription status against our licence service and caches the result for about 24 hours.
If the service is briefly unreachable, the app keeps working using the cached result. That cover lasts up to 7 days from the last successful check. Beyond that the app says it could not complete the check and asks you to retry - it never assumes you are unlicensed just because it could not reach us.
If a subscription lapses (e.g. a failed payment), there's a 14-day grace period before the apps lock, so a billing hiccup never instantly breaks your intranet.

If your network blocks the licence service

Apps check your subscription against spk-license-worker.sharepointkit.workers.dev. Some corporate proxies and web filters block .workers.dev addresses wholesale, and some answer on their behalf with a block page. Either way the apps refuse to read that as an answer, so nobody is wrongly told they are unlicensed - but after 7 days without a successful check the apps stop rendering and show a "we could not complete the licence check" message instead.

There are two fixes. Either is fine, and you only need one.

Allow the address. Permit spk-license-worker.sharepointkit.workers.dev through your proxy or filter. Nothing else changes.
Or point the apps at our own domain. Set one tenant property and every Glow Cloud Kit app will use licence.glowcloudkit.com instead. Same service, our own domain rather than a Cloudflare one.

To set the property, run this once against your App Catalog site as a SharePoint administrator. It applies to every site in the tenant.

To check what is set, or to undo it:

Apps only look for this property when the default address does not answer, and they remember what they find for 24 hours - so a working tenant never pays for the lookup, and a change here can take up to a day to reach every page. Both addresses run the same service, send the same data (your tenant id and which app is asking, nothing else) and are interchangeable.

Free trial

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Your card is on file but nothing is charged during the trial, and the apps are fully active. If you cancel before the trial ends you're never charged. After 14 days the first full period bills automatically.

One tenant per subscription

A standard subscription licenses one Microsoft 365 tenant - the first one you activate. Managed service providers and partners who run several client tenants can license each on an Enterprise plan; talk to us about Enterprise.

Managing your subscription

From the customer portal you can view your plan and invoices, update billing, and cancel. Card payments are processed by Stripe, who email your receipt for each payment and a reminder before your free trial ends. No VAT is currently charged.

What happens if you cancel

Every app except Theme renders live, so it stops working once the subscription (plus grace period) ends. This named three apps until 2026-08-25, which read as though the rest were unaffected.
Theme is the one exception: it applies a SharePoint theme that persists in your tenant, so cancelling removes access to the designer tool, not a theme you have already applied.
