Launchpad
Launchpad gives people one obvious place to click: a set of quick links shown as tiles, icon boxes, a compact list, buttons, a filmstrip or a spotlight. Author the links by hand, or bind the web part to a SharePoint list so they stay in sync as the list changes. It inherits your site theme and is configured entirely from the property pane, no code.
Permissions
Launchpad runs client-side as the signed-in user and reads none of your content. Authoring by hand and binding to a SharePoint list need no Microsoft Graph permissions. Only optional audience targeting uses a single read-only Graph scope, GroupMember.Read.All, which an admin approves once; if it is not granted, targeting fails open and every link simply shows.
Set up
- Install the package (see the Install guide). No Graph scopes are required to start.
- Edit a page → add the Launchpad web part.
- In the property pane, add links by hand or bind to a SharePoint list, then choose a layout.
Ways to fill it
- Author by hand - add links one at a time, pick a Fluent icon or upload a tile image to Site Assets, and set colours and order.
- Bind to a list - point Launchpad at a SharePoint list so links stay in sync as the list changes, edited by anyone with list access. The list path needs no Graph scope.
Layout options
- Layout - Tiles, Icon boxes or a Compact list, with tile shape and density.
- Columns - responsive, from 1 to 6, with comfortable, compact or dense spacing.
- Style - set an accent, card background, corner radius and hover, and give any single item its own colour.
- Theme - inherits your site theme, light and dark.
- End users - search and sort the links on the page.
Audience targeting
Target any link to Microsoft 365 or security groups with a searchable group picker, so each team sees only the links that belong to them. Targeting uses the read-only GroupMember.Read.All scope and fails open if it is not approved.
Click analytics
Optionally log clicks to a SharePoint list in your tenant to see which links are used. Only the link and the time are recorded, never personal data.
Launchpad reads none of your content, and nothing is shared outside your tenant.
