Info, success, warning and critical, each with its own colour and icon, so people take in the importance of a message before they read a word of it.
Override any message with a custom colour and an uploaded icon, and choose how it fills - Tinted, Solid or Outline. The ticker takes its own background colour with auto-contrast text, so a comms bar can carry brand rather than default styling.
Give each message a start and end with the date picker, and it appears and disappears on its own. No diary reminders to take yesterday's notice down.
People can close a message they have read, and it stays closed on their next visit. Dismissal is remembered per person, so nobody is nagged twice.
Target each message to Microsoft 365 or security groups, so a notice for one department is seen only by that department and everyone else keeps a clean page.
Upload a header logo, and every mode inherits your SharePoint theme in light and dark. It looks like part of the intranet, not a bolt-on, with no code.

Runs as you, with one optional read-only scope
Announce runs client-side as the signed-in user and has no data source of its own. Only optional audience targeting uses a single read-only Microsoft Graph permission, GroupMember.Read.All, which an administrator approves once. It is used solely to check group membership so the right people see a message, and if the check cannot run it fails open, showing the message rather than hiding it.
