Glow Cloud Kit · Org Chart
An org chart web part that draws how companies are actually structured - matrix teams, additional and dotted-line managers, contractors and vacant roles - with live presence, a card designer in your own colours, and a zero-setup default straight from Microsoft 365.

ExternalCompact grouped layout with curved connectors: leaf teams gathered under each manager, live presence, an external contractor and a vacant role. Static preview - the real chart pans, zooms and re-roots.
Three ways to build it
Zero setup
Users and managers paged from Microsoft Graph, with 64px photos and presence. Nothing to provision.
Full control
The overrides list is the org: rows define everyone, including people not in Microsoft 365.
Recommended
The directory baseline with the overrides list applied on top - re-parent lines, add matrix managers, fix titles.
How it shows the org
Real orgs are not a single tree. The chart resolves a DAG - with cycle protection - and draws each kind of relationship distinctly, with a legend so anyone reading it knows exactly what they are seeing.
The primary reporting line, drawn as the tree.
A second solid-line manager - matrix reporting.
A dotted, functional line that isn't the main manager.
A contractor or partner not in Microsoft 365.
An open role, shown in place under its manager.
Built for the messy reality
Start from the Microsoft 365 directory with no configuration, layer a SharePoint overrides list on top, or drive the whole org from the list - including people who are not in Microsoft 365. Photos and presence enrich progressively and cache.
A DAG model with cycle protection: primary reports, additional solid-line managers, dotted functional lines, re-parented reporting, external contractors and vacant positions. Matrix teams drawn the way they actually work, not forced into one tree.
Drag to pan, Ctrl-scroll to zoom, fit-to-view and reset on a tidy-tree canvas. Click a card to re-root the chart on that person with a breadcrumb trail back to the top, or go full screen for a large org.
Ranked search across name, title and department; multi-select department and job-title filters with a live 'showing X of Y people' count; and collapse the whole chart to Level 1, 2, 3 or all levels at once.
Switch top-down, left-to-right or a compact grouped-team grid from the toolbar, with elbow, straight or curved connectors - and a connector colour of your choosing - applied consistently across every line.
Five card styles - Standard, Compact, Portrait, Accent bar and Spotlight - circle or rounded-square photos, a card colour picker with auto-contrasting text, and department chips that auto-colour from your site theme. All from the property pane, no templates.
An in-part panel with people pickers adds, edits and deletes overrides, sets additional and functional managers, marks vacant roles and external people, and refreshes the chart live. Admins fix the org here, not in a raw list.
Live Teams presence on every card, plus hover quick-actions to chat, call or email straight from a person - so the chart is a directory you act from, not just a picture on a page.
Below tablet width the canvas becomes a drill-down list of the same org. Frame the part flush, outlined or elevated, on a solid or transparent background - it stays crisp on any coloured SharePoint section.

Colours & photos
Card and connector colours are yours to pick, text auto-contrasts for legibility, and department chips colour themselves from your site theme - so the chart matches your intranet without a design session. Frame it flush, outlined or elevated, on a solid or transparent background.
Least privilege, nothing new to approve
Org Chart uses just two read-only Graph scopes, User.Read.All and Presence.Read.All, the same set as the Directory, so existing customers grant nothing new. Photos and presence load progressively and are cached, and the overrides list is read and written on SharePoint as the signed-in user with no extra scope. It reads only what each person can already see.

Questions
It has three source modes. Microsoft 365 directory needs zero setup and pages users and managers from Microsoft Graph. A SharePoint overrides list can define the whole org, including people who are not in Microsoft 365. Hybrid, the recommended mode, applies the overrides list on top of the directory.
Yes. Beyond the primary reporting line it renders additional solid-line managers, dotted functional managers, re-parented lines, vacant positions and external contractors, with cycle protection so a bad reporting loop never breaks the chart.
Two read-only scopes, User.Read.All and Presence.Read.All, the same set as the Directory, so existing customers grant nothing new. The overrides list is read and written on SharePoint as the signed-in user, with no extra scope.
